The Peliconstruction team

Peliconstruction has a small labour force of between three to five staff at any given time, which gives us the ability to undertake several projects at once.

The Director

Steve is a trade qualified carpenter and joiner with 50 years in the trade. He started in the construction industry in the early 1960’s as an apprentice within the New Zealand Army.

Steve has been in business since leaving the military in the early 1970s. In the years after leaving the military Steve honed his building and management skills on many unique project around the Lake Tarawera, Rotorua area of which Steve was a resident for thirty years.

Steve’s management skill set is diverse, from commercial projects such as hospitals and sports facilities through to high specification residential dwellings. Over the years Steve has worked with several notable and well respected architects from around New Zealand.

In California Steve took part in high end residential construction projects as well as seismic retrofitting of high risk buildings. On returning to New Zealand Steve started Peliconstruction Ltd. Named after the township of Pelican in Alaska, a place where Steve has visited on numerous occasions.

Steve is a licenced building practitioner.

The Construction Manager

Raoul is a trade qualified carpenter and site supervisor with 15 years experience in the construction industry. His career in the construction industry started in the group housing sector in the wider Bay of Plenty Region.

Raoul has worked abroad for many years obtaining a wide range of skills and expertise, from working with the historic places trust restoring old and damaged buildings of cultural significance to medium to high-end residential construction projects as well as numerous shop-fitting jobs. While living in the United Kingdom.

Raoul is currently studying to obtain a diploma in construction management he is a licenced building practitioner and has been with Peliconstruction since 2009.
